Over the years we've seen Real Madrid loan out a number of their promising young players to give them time to develop as a player before returning to the club when the time is right. We've seen it in the past with players like Brahim Diaz at AC MIlan, and more recently with Endrick and Nico Paz, both of whom are expected to return in the summer after successful loan stints away from the Bernabeu. The loan out and return plan has worked wonders in the past and it seems we could see it again with one of Real's youngsters who hasn't quite lived up to expectations.

As being reported by MadridXtra on X, Real Madrid's idea this summer is to loan out Franco Mastantuono to allow the player to get the proper development he needs that he won't get at the Bernabeu. The club would prefer to send him to a La Liga club in order to keep a close eye on him, however sending him out elsewhere in Europe hasn't been ruled completely out.

Real Madrid finally make the obvious Mastantuono realization

The 18-year-old arrived last summer from River Plate for a fee that can reach up to €60 million following a breakout performance with the Argentine side at the FIFA Club World Cup. He arrived with incredibly high expectations on his shoulders and unfortunately for the teenager meeting those expectations has proved to be a difficult task. The attacker struggled to make much of an impact when given the chance and fell all the way down to the bottom of the pecking order under interim manager Alvaro Arbeloa.

Mastantuono only managed to score three goals in 33 matches in all competitions, and as mentioned earlier gametime became almost non existent under Arbeloa. In an attack with Vinicius Jr, Kylian Mbappe, Rodrygo who is expected back from injury next season, Arda Guler, as well as Endrick and Nico Paz expected to be returning from loan, the Argentine will get lost in the shuffle with Jose Mourinho so a loan move is the right call at this stage in his career.

We seen Real Madrid players have incredible loan spells away with Brahim Diaz winning the Scudetto with AC Milan in 21/22, and we say it this season with Endrick's incredible six months at Lyon and Nico Paz winning Serie A midfielder of the season and being arguably the best player in Italy, carrying Como to the Champions League for the first time in the clubs history. Who's to say the same can't happen with Franco whether it's playing elsewhere in Spain or possibly somewhere in the Bundesliga, a league that favors his attacking style of play.

At the end of the day. Mastantuono is still only 18-years-old, he's still got his whole entire career ahead of him and wasting these crucial formative years sitting on the bench only playing four minutes at the end of a game isn't doing much for him, so this call by Real Madrid to send him out on loan is what's in the best interest for both the player and the club.
