Real Madrid have made some questionable desicions in recent years when it comes to transfer whether it's arrivals or departures. One of the most confusing of those desicions was letting go of Luka Modric. The club never likes to admit when they make a mistake, but Los Blancos might be forced to confront their mistake if they appoint Massimiliano Allegri.

As being reported by Football Italia, newspapers in Italy are claiming AC Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri would want to bring both Adrien Rabiot and Luka Modric with him to Real Madrid should he be appointed the next manager in the summer.

Allegri wants Real Madrid reunion

After more than a decade at the club, Luka Modric saw his time at the Bernabeu come to an end this summer as he departed for AC Milan, in a move that left many scratching their heads and now it seems the club are second guessing their decision. The club has been struggling desperately for some kind of midfield creativity this season, creativity the Croatian was known for bring every matchday.

At 40-years-old Real Madrid clearly thought Modric was on the decline which is why they decided to let him leave, thinking they were set with the young new generation of midfielders at the club. However that is nowhere near the case, Modric has been thriving in Allegri's AC Milan side and even at 40-years-old has been one of the best and most consistent players in Serie A, and has been everything Real Madrid has been lacking this season.

Modric has been a key part of Allegri's system this season so it doesn't come as a huge surprise that he would want to bring the midfield maestro with him should he be appointed Real Madrid's next manager this summer. Modric is defying father time and still performing at the highest level, and would no doubt come in and fix the issues plaguing Real Madrid this season.

It's safe to say that no Real Madrid fan ever wanted to part ways with Modric in the first place so his return would surely be welcomed by all fans. Besides his creativity, his veteran experience and leadership that he brings to any team he's in is another aspect clearly lacking from Los Blancos this season and could arguably be more important than what he would bring on the pitch. The Croatian signed a one-year contract with the Italian club in the summer with an option for an additional year which can be activated by the player, so there's the possibility Real could bring Modric back on a free transfer, should Allegri be the man chosen to lead Real Madrid into the future.
