Real Madrid are one of several European giants reportedly eyeing one of La Liga's frontmen ahead of the summer transfer window. It appears that Los Blancos are ready to battle it out with top clubs for Levante striker Etta Eyong.
Ben Jacobs reports that Madrid have him on their radar this summer. They are joined in the race for the Cameroonian forward by Barcelona, Manchester United and Arsenal.
Los Blancos have had no issues up top this season with Kylian Mbappe in red-hot form. Gonzalo Garcia has been playing backup to the Frenchman and impressed when called upon.
Madrid in transfer battle with Barcelona and Man United for Eyong
Levante are trying to sell Eyong to CSKA Moscow after the Russian side made a bid of over €30m for the 22-year-old. He isn't interested in heading to Russia and as a result that opens the door for Madrid to pounce this summer.
Eyong has caught the eye in La Liga this season, posting five goals and one assist in 19 games. He is a clinical finisher whose movement causes the opposition issues. His national team coach Marc Brys feels he has just as much potential as Barca's Lamine Yamal (via SempreBarca):
"Etta also has that potential. He is dangerous, unpredictable, and can surprise anyone. That is valuable for any big team."
Jacobs also claims that Premier League duo Everton and Fulham are interested in Eyong. He has just over three years on his contract with Levante.

Eyong started on the bench in his side's 1-0 loss to Villarreal on Wednesday (February 18th). He coincidentally joined Levante from the Yellow Submarine for a mere €5m last summer.
Real Madrid shouldn't prioritise Eyong
Madrid have focused on youth in recent transfer windows and Eyong fits the criteria given his age and potential. He looks set to make the move to a top European club this summer.
A €30m fee isn't too expensive for the young Cameroonian but the La Liga club have other areas of the squad to address. At least one new midfielder is vital for Los Blancos amid a glaring need for more creativity.
A new center-back seems a certainty ahead of David Alaba's departure. Recent reports suggest the club are looking at Atalanta's Giorgio Scalvini although Borussia Dortmund's Nico Schlotterbeck tops their defensive wishlist.
Eyong should be viewed as a market opportunity that could be pounced upon once more pressing signings are made. He isn't likely to be a starter but rather an acquistion with the future in mind.
