Real Madrid need to sign a player who once heaped praise on Jude Bellingham

Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott had only good things to say about Real Madrid superstar Jude Bellingham in an interview in 2025, which is resurfacing on social media once again. The Englishman was asked about who his favorite players were at that moment, and his answer included three midfielders, two of whom were English, in Bellingham and Declan Rice.

The third one was Pedri, but he then went on to talk about Jude Bellingham for another few seconds. It is good to see young players like Scott talk about Bellingham as if he is five to ten years older than him.

He said: “Jude Bellingham, Pedri and Rice are my favorite midfielders. Jude is a bit more advanced. He’s the type of player we look at while growing up. Jude and I are the same age actually, but it feels like Jude has been around for 10 years. They’ve been at the top level for years now and won countless things for their clubs.”

Jude Bellingham is the best in the world, despite being so young

That is how everything works when you have been in the spotlight for as long as Bellingham has. He literally came onto the scene when he was not even an adult, and now at just 23, he is one of the best players in the world.

Most young players finally get their act together during this time when they turn 22 or 23 years old, but Bellingham is a bit different because he's already the best in the world in his position. He was already a brilliant player before he even joined Real Madrid. He was amazing for Dortmund, and then when he came to Madrid, he took it to another level.

So he works as an inspiration for even those who are older than him or are the same age as him, which is really nice to see.

Alex Scott could eventually do well at Real Madrid

Another brilliant thing about this is that it came from a player who is a profile that Real Madrid actually need.

Scott is a technically gifted, versatile midfielder who loves to pass the ball around and create for his teammates. He is very agile, balanced, and he's a neat dribbler, which is a profile that Real Madrid don't have for too long.

Bernardo Silva is probably the closest player to that midfielder, but obviously he's 32 years old and is closer to retiring than to staying at this top level. That is exactly why Real Madrid should at some point start looking at Scott as a potential target.

Maybe he isn't as good as I think, but his profile, the way his nimble feet work the ball around, and how confident and comfortable he is to have the ball, is something that Real Madrid would need after Silva leaves. It remains to be seen whether that actually ends up happening because he hasn't been linked to the club before.

But if Real Madrid do look at him, at least he will have a reference point in Bellingham, even though they're the same age.
