Real Madrid are expecting a number of departures this summer as they look to reshape the squad and bounce back after back-to-back disappointing seasons. The club has a list of players they are comfortable with parting ways with as well as a list of 'untuchables' who won't be leaving anytime soon. One of those is Aurelien Tchouameni, the Frenchman is a player Real Madrid have no interest in parting ways with, however there is one Premier League side who are ready to test his 'untouchable' status.
As being reported by James Ducker of The Telegram on X, Manchester United are keeping a close eye on Aurelien Tchouameni's situation at Real Madrid as the Premier League side looks to reshape their midfield in the summer transfer window, with the Frenchman being one of the candidates alongside Elliot Anderson that the Red Devils hold a strong interest in recruiting.
Man United want Real Madrid's Casemiro replacement to replace Casemiro
This isn't the first time United have shown an interest in signing Tchouameni. The Premier League side held a strong interest in signing the midfielder when he was still at Monaco before he ultimately ended up signing for Los Blancos following United's signing of Casemiro in the summer of 2022. So now just four years later, United are eyeing Real's Casemiro replacement to replace Casemiro who is departing Old Trafford at the end of the season.
Tchouameni joins a list of a number of other midfielders United are keeping their eyes on with Nottingham Forest's Elliot Anderson being the favorite, followed by the Frenchman who has jumped up their list. United held a strong interest in Newcastle's Sandro Tonali but have now shifted that attention to Tchouameni.
A number of Real's start players have been disappointing this season to say the least, but Tchouameni has been one of the best players for Los Blancos this season just behind Kylian Mbappe and Thibaut Courtois. The Frenchman has solidified himself as a cornerstone player for Real Madrid's future and won't be going anywhere anytime soon no matter what kind of offer comes in. Tchouameni is out of contract at the Bernabeu in 2027 so if Real really want to thwart off any interest, they need to lock down his future quickly.
While Tchouameni is untouchable this summer, we could well see his compatriot Eduardo Camavinga depart in the summer and United could be a possible destination for the Frenchman if he takes the next step of his career away from the Bernabeu. When Real Madrid lineup for matchday one of the 2026/27 La Liga season we will surely see a number of new names on the pitch, but thankfully Tchouameni will still be their in his defensive midfield role.
