Real Madrid are planning a major squad overhaul this summer as the club looks to bounce back following a complete disaster of a season. A number of players are expected to be shown the exit door as the club looks to make room for the new arrivals that are expected in the summer. One player who's future still remains unknown is Aurelien Tchouameni. It seems there is a different report each week about whether he'll stay or go and now the latest reports suggest one Premier League side has the Frenchman at the top of their summer wishlist.

As being reported by MadridXtra on X, Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni is Manchester United's dream midfield signing as they look to replace the departing Casemiro and bolster their midfield as they head into their first full season under new manager Michael Carrick. Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson had long been United's top target, however they have no shifted their attention to the Frenchman as they believe he is the perfect replacement for Casemiro.

Man United want Real Madrid's Casemiro replacement to be a Casemiro replacement again

This isn't the first time Manchester United have shown interest in signing the 26-year-old midfielder. The Premier League side held a strong interest in Tchouameni when he was still at Monaco before he ultimately ended up signing for Real Madrid following United's move for Casemiro back in the summer of 2022. So now just four years later, the Red Devils are eyeing Real Madrid's Casemiro replacement to now be their Casemiro replacement as the Brazilian's time at Old Trafford has come to an end.

As mentioned earlier Tchouameni joins a list of a number of other midfield targets the Premier League side are keeping tabs on, joining the likes of Elliot Anderson, Crystal Palace's Adam Wharton, and Atalanta's Ederson but the Frenchman has leapfrogged all of them, become their new number one dream signing.

Tchouameni's situation at Real Madrid could be pretty complicated this summer. While he had a terrific season, probably the third best player behind Thibaut Courtois and Kylian Mbappe, his recent training ground bust ups with Fede Valverde may outweigh all the good he did this season resulting in an unlikely, but still possible sale. Real Madrid themselves are also hoping to revamp their midfield with Rodri and Enzo Fernandez as their main targets and could possibly offload the Frenchman to make room for their new signings.

Los Blancos paid €80 million for the midfielder back in 2022 and as he has only gotten better they would no doubt ask for a fee close to the €100 million mark, which could be too steep for United to be interested in paying. At the end of the day the final call will seemingly be Jose Mourinho's and whether or not he views Tchouameni as a key player in his system as he takes over this summer.
