Real Madrid returned to winning ways after a 2-1 win against Rayo Vallecano at the Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday. A goal each from Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr gave Real Madrid an early advantage, before conceding a brilliant goal from Pedro Diaz at the cusp of half-time.
It was a Real Madrid performance that, at least in the first half, gave some hope to the Real Madrid fans. It was a win that Real Madrid really needed, especially after a favourable result that saw Atletico Madrid lose to Getafe earlier on Sunday. Barcelona's match was postponed, which meant Real Madrid are temporarily level on points with their arch-rivals. Ideally, they could have scored much more than they did, but a good performance anyway.
Here are the player ratings from the match

Goalkeeper
GK Andriy Lunin
Lunin had to fill in for Real Madrid's first-choice goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois due to a last minute decision to rest the Belgian due to some discomfort. Lunin had a good game overall, though. His distribution was fantastic, and also had a couple of really good saves in the first half. He could not have done much about the goal that Los Blancos conceded. Rating: 7
