Real Madrid have officially lost the La Liga title and gone trophyless, falling 2-0 to Barcelona at the Camp Nou in El Clasico. Here are the player ratings from another disaster of a match, which proves the problems at this club go beyond Kylian Mbappe.
GK Thibaut Courtois, 7.5
Made an insane save to deny Marcus Rashford one on one after getting bested by the English forward from a free kick. Without Tibo in goal, Real Madrid would have lost by four.
LB Fran Garcia, 7.0
Overall, Fran honestly lacks the quality of a Real Madrid starter, but what you can say about him that you can't say about al ot of his teammates is that he tries. And his clearances and interventions saved a couple of goals today.
CB Antonio Rudiger, 4.0
Real Madrid cannot afford to keep him around. He farms pass completions and does nothing else on the ball, while his defensive work is abysmal. Any forward with a semblance of quality can have a field day against this ill disciplined veteran.
CB Raul Asencio, 4.0
Just as poor as his defensive partner. Rudiger and Raul Asencio is one of the worst center back pairings we have seen at Real Madrid.
RB Trent Alexander-Arnold, 6.5
Actually played a decent game for Real Madrid with some great crosses and credible one on one defending. Trent hasn't been worth his wages this season, but he isn't a total flop either.
DM Aurelien Tchouameni, 2.0
Completey overrun in the middle of the park. Aurelien Tchouameni needs to be criticized a lot more for his own lack of development as a player and his limited understanding of the game. He is as much a part of the problem as anyone else.
CM Jude Bellingham, 5.0
Had to do more defensively in a game of this magnitude, and his end product was quite shocking. The intensity and effort to progress the ball is always there, but Jude isn't playing to a superstar's standard.
CM Eduardo Camavinga, 5.0
When you look at the numbers, Eduardo Camavinga seems decent, passing accurately and winning the ball. When you actually watch the matches, you can see why his name is in the transfer rumors. Camavinga does nothing useful for Madrid in the context of the game and is run circles around by superior opponents. Thiago Pitarch should be above him in the pecking order.
AM Brahim Diaz, 6.5
One of the few players who didn't deserve this result. Brahim worked so, so hard for the team on the ball to make things happen, but there was just nobody there for him to link with. And the midfielders behind him let him down badly.
FW Vinicius Junior, 4.0
A ghost. Performances like this are exactly what Kylian Mbappe is looking for.
FW Gonzalo Garcia, 3.0
Missed a golden opportunity to score one on one with the keeper in the first half - the sort of chance a Real Madrid striker needs to take. This was Garcia's chance to prove himself to the manager and the club with Kylian Mbappe out, but instead of proving himself, Garcia proved that he isn't a starting caliber player for Real Madrid. Very poor in all phases.
