These days, Real Madrid fans do not know what to believe. Every single day brings a new controversy, a new leak, a new mole, and conflicting information that is difficult for everyone to wrap their heads around. And it feels like there are agendas abound with players who legitimately dislike each other, selfish underperformers attempting to find scapegoats to deflect the blame, and egoes running amoke with the intention of playing the media as dummies on a string.

The dust up between Fede Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni has added an explosive controversy to the scene, and Real Madrid are having to navigate a situation in which two (at least previously) well liked stars in the squad are now in an ugly situation.

And all the while, those voices in the background are using the situation to raise dissent. In their latest report, Mario Cortegana and Gullermo Rai of The Athletic pass along information from two senior players within the squad. These two players seem to be of the belief that it is impossible for both Tchouameni and Valverde to stay at Real Madrid after what happened.

Real Madrid players are showing no loyalty

But interestingly enough, all subsequent reporting after this nugget seems to indicate that Real Madrid will not be doing anything about Fede Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni that is drastic, beyond handing down hefty finds. Valverde will already miss a week or two with a concussion, while the French starting midfielder won't even miss El Clasico; Real Madrid are not going to hand sporting suspensions to them.

As ugly as what transpired was, Real Madrid have had brutal locker room fights before that were kept under wraps. And those that were not. So for two supposedly senior members of the squad to leak to The Athletic that they think Tchuouameni and Valverde will be gone speaks to the extent of how the moles are operating, the ulterior motives and agendas, and the fact that there are players speaking from a veil of anonymity who are trying to drive certain narratives.

Leaking speculation to the press about your teammates getting fired is a big deal, and it seems like there are figures in the dressing room doing this very flippantly. And while so much attention is being placed on Tchouameni and Valverde after the recent events - and rightfully so - we are learning that the real moles are not them, especially since we apparently have two hinting at wanting them fired.
