Of the back of back-to-back trophyless seasons, Real Madrid were determined to bounce back and show the world that they are still the biggest powerhouse in football. The club has already announced four new signings, and are still planning to make another galactico signing, with Bayern Munich's Michael Olise as Florentino Perez's number one target and the club are ready to sacrifice one of their superstars to make a move happen this summer.

As being reported by Madrid Universal on X, Real Madrid have not ruled out selling Vinicius Jr this summer in order to facilitate a move for Michael Olise, with the Frenchman reportedly desperaet to join Los Blancos. Real Madrid would need to raise a huge amount of funds and clear space for Olise and it seems Vinicius could be the one sacrificed to make a move happen.

Real Madrid ready to sell one galactico to buy another

Real Madrid have been linked with Olise since the start of the summer with club president Florentino Perez determined to make a move happen at all costs. Bayern Munich have insisted the player isn't for sale but it has now become known he is desperate to leave and move to the Bernabeu putting Real Madrid on high alert.

Bayern Munich would easily request a fee around or higher than Neymar's record setting €222 million fee and if Real Madrid hope to pay that they would have to raise the funds somehow and the sale of Vinicius is what the club are thinking could get the job done. Real Madrid has already raised around €130 million from sales this summer and selling Vinicius could realistically bring in well over €150 million, giving the club enough to potentially make a move for Olise.

The Brazilian is out of contract next summer and talks between the player and the club have stalled in recent months so selling him for a hefty fee instead of potentially losing him as a free agent if he doesn't extend makes sense from the clubs perspective, however, selling also doens't make sense either.

While the last two season from Vinicius Jr weren't at the level we saw him between 2021-2024, he is still a key player for Los Blancos and is consistently the player who shows up in the biggest games, something Olise failed to do this season so selling your best big game player for someone who cracks under pressure could come back to haunt Real Madrid when trophies are on the line this season. Selling Vinicius to bring in Olise feels like somewhat of a reactionary move from Real Madrid but it's not like we haven't seen the club at the opportunity to sign a superstar player before.
