Quite a story has been made surrounding the future of Vinicius Jr at the Bernabeu this summer. Much speculation has been made that the player and club could part ways with an agreement over a new contract still yet to be reached, with a number of clubs showing interest in the Brazilian should he become available. However, through all the speculation Real Madrid has made their stance on Vinicius known and it will upset some Arsenal fans.
As being reported by Sky Sports, Vinicius Jr is expected to stay at Real Madrid this summer with the club confident that the Brazilian will renew his contract in the coming weeks. The club plans to re-up their offer to thwart off any interest from Arsenal signing the attacker this summer. Talks are still ongoing but are expected to progress towards an agreement soon.
Real Madrid don't expect Vinicius to go anywhere
Vinicius is out of contract next summer and has been in discussions over a new deal for months however the player and the club hit a number of stumbling blocks over salary demands, leading some to believe no agreement would be reached, resulting in the Brazilian leaving the Bernabeu, with Arsenal showing a strong interest in bringing him in this summer. However, that won't be happening.
The Brazilian has always been Florentino Perez's boy and the president wouldn't be willing to part ways with the player given all he has done for the club but especially recently. Vinicius was the main man in Real's last two Champions League winning campaigns and with the club's eyes set on returning to Champions League glory this season, Vinicius was never going to go anywhere as he will be key to Real Madrid this season.
Head coach Jose Mourinho has made it clear that he wants to keep the Brazilian and has big plans for him in his team, so while bringing in a possible €150 million from selling Vinicius sounds great, winning trophies sounds even better and Vini is expected to spearhead the attack this season alongside Kylian Mbappe and potentially Yan Diomande.
The Brazilian is expected to report to pre-season training later this week still without a new deal but with the prospect of a new deal better than when the 25/26 season concluded. Vinicius had a somewhat down last two seasons from when we've seen him at his best but with a new manager at the helm the Brazilian will be more determined than ever to get back to his best and show why any talk of a potential sale was nonsense to begin with.
