When looking at the Real Madrid squad, the sheer amount of world class talent in the squad is evident right off of first glance. Players like Kylian Mbappe, Thibaut Courtois, Eder Militao, and Arda Guler are just few to name who highlight the amount of quilty all over the pitch, making it one of the best squads in Europe.

However, there are also a number of players at the club who for lack of a better term are dead weight not doing much other than taking up wages and not playing very often. Players like David Alaba, Ferland Mendy, and Fran Garcia are some who fit this profile, who are on incredible wages but see very few minutes and spend most of their time on the bench.

Real are reportedly planning a squad overhaul this summer, with these 'dead weight players' being some of the first to go to finally get their wages off the books. However, one of these players had the option to leave during the January trasnfer window, but for some reason, the club rejected the chance to get him off the books.

Real Madrid reject Premier League offer for outcast full-back

As being reported by Miguel Angel Diaz of COPE, Premier League side Bournemouth made an offer to Real Madrid for Fran Garcia, with the player open to taking the offer in search of more minutes, however, the club dismissed the offer, blocking any departure this month.

Why exactly Real would reject the offer is quite confusing given the Spaniard sits behind Alvaro Carreras as well as Camavinga who is also a threat to get minutes at left-back, and Ferland Mendy is still on the books, So Garcia is effectively the third choice left-back and given he was open to the move, why Los Blancos rejected it is mysterious.

The 26-year-old returned to the club in the summer of 2023 and has shown some bright moments but all in all hasn't delivered at the level the club was expecting him to. As a result the club brought in Alvaro Carreras this past summer, signaling that Fran Garcia's time at the club could be coming to an end sooner rather than later. The club may have rejected the offer because they're not open to letting him leave this month, but it could be a completely different story when the summer transfer window rolls around.

Bournemouth being a club interested in the full-back isn't a huge surprise as the Spaniard played under current Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola during his time at Rayo Vallecano before returning to Los Blancos. His contract would only have one year left by the time summer rolls around, so for the right price, he could finally get his move away from the Bernabeu.
