For a club to achieve the levels of success that Real Madrid has, they have to rely on their whole squad to do their part no matter how big or small. Madrid has relied on a number of players who became unsung heroes, forever ingrained in the club's history.

In recent years, we've seen players like Joselu and Brahim Diaz stamp their names in the memories of Madrid fans for all the work they did during the 23/24 season, being underrated pieces of an incredibly successful season.

Another player who became one of, if not the biggest, unsung heroes in recent times at Madrid is goalkeeper Andriy Lunin. His 23/24 season became the stuff of legend and is forever ingrained in the minds of Madridistas. Lunin, however, has become the main man of interest from a number of Premier League sides, but it's safe to say all fans agree that he is too good to be just a backup.

Real Madrid risk losing unsung hero amid Premier League interest

As being reported by Fichajes, Andriy Lunin is the subject of interest from three Premier League clubs as he considers what the next step of his career is, either stay as the backup at Real Madrid or leave and finally find a starting role elsewhere. The English clubs named as potential landing spots are Tottenham Hotspur, Nottingham Forest, and Brighton & Hove Albion.

Let's all be honest, Lunin is way overqualified for the backup role he currently has at Madrid. When called upon to be the starting keeper in the 23/24 season following Thibaut Courtois' injury, Lunin was one of the key pieces behind the success that season. Who could forget his remarkable performances against Manchester City in the Champions League quarter-finals, helping guide Los Blancos to their 15th Champions League title.

However, ever since Courtois returned from injury, he regained his undisputed number one keeper spot, relegating Lunin back to the bench. He'll still play the odd game if Courtois is hurt and the early rounds of the Copa del Rey, but given his quality, he deserves to be playing regularly.

The Ukrainian has flirted with leaving before but always ended up staying with Los Blancos, but now could finally be the time he leaves for the starting role he deserves. Lunin is no doubt a fan favorite and many would be happy to see him finally get the recognition he deserves as a starting keeper for a top club in Europe.
