Real Madrid had hope and a great chance of at least fighting for more in extra time, but they ended up losing once more to Bayern Munich, falling 4-3 after late goals from star wingers Luis Diaz and Michael Olise.

Bayern showed Real Madrid that there is a level Los Blancos have fallen below in the last two seasons, as they are no longer a capable Champions League winning team. But the back breaking moment that cost Real any hope of advancing was a second yellow card and a red for Frenchman Eduardo Camavinga.

The former Rennes prospect had already played himself out of the Real Madrid starting XI, even with countryman Aurelien Tchouameni suspended, after disastrous outings against Mallorca and Girona in La Liga. Camavinga's poor marking, sloppiness, and mental mistakes have become very frustrating to Madridistas, and even his biggest fans over the years are deeply disappointed with his lack of progress.

Eduardo Camavinga has lost the plot

Real Madrid wisely did not start him against Bayern Munich and were better without him in the lineup, but Alvaro Arbeloa brought him on in the second half for attacker Brahim Diaz. He probably wishes he didn't. Camavinga was poor, getting overrun in midfield and making the same positional errors as Real slowly started to unravel and lose control with the chaotic Frenchman in the lineup.

Already on a yellow card after burning a tactical foul on Jamal Musiala in transition, Eduardo Camavinga then lost the game for Real Madrid with another brainless error, picking up the ball and running around with it like he thought he was Derrick Henry playing at Arrowhead Stadium and not a backup midfielder whose job was to, you know, not screw it all up at the Allianz Arena in a Champions League knockout tie.

Alvaro Arbeloa and the Real Madrid players, as well as the imbeciles at Real Madrid TV who make this club look like a bunch of whining Ronald Koeman clones, can moan all they want. Camavinga deserved a yellow by the letter of the law, running with the ball in his hands smirking like some sort of a juvenile delinquent as if the time wasting would have any benefit on Real Madrid. Instead, it did the opposite, killing their season.

It has become a pattern of behavior for Camavinga. He isn't a serious player. He comes to the games, runs around, doesn't care to cover for the back line, never steps up in time to blocke shots, has his head in the clouds, and passes like it doesn't matter if Real lose possession. He will be a great player in world football, but he needs to hit rock bottom and have a reality check in his life so he can get serious. And that starts with Real Madrid giving in to the rumors they are already creating behind the scenes and officially sell him this summer. It's time to move on. It's best for everyone, including Cama, who should be a wonderful footballer by this point in his career development arc.
