New deals have already been agreed for players like Aurelien Tchouameni and Vinicius Jr, and Real are close to getting another extension over the line, one that could prove to be more important than it looks on face value.
As being reported by Fabrizio Romano on X, Arda Guler and Real Madrid have agreed a new deal, keeping the Turkish international at the Bernabeu until 2032 and including a pay rise for the superstar.
Guler has been one of the few players who have stepped up and performed well so far this season, so keeping him at the club for six more years could prove to be crucial for Real Madrid, even more crucial than extending Vinicius Jr.
Six more years of Guler is good news for Real Madrid going forward
Guler struggled to adapt to life at Real Madrid following his arrival as a teenager in the summer of 2023, but now entering his fourth season has developed into one of the best attacking midfielders in the world, and off the back of his best season at the Bernabeu last year is looking to carry that form into the 26/27 season and so far he is doing just that.
Guler grabbed nine goals and 14 assists in 55 games last season, and has already grabbed one goal and one assist in four matches so far this season, and has been showing his class on the pitch in the early parts of the new season.
His presence can be felt every time he's on the ball, but it is missed even more when he's not on the pitch, and that was painfully evident in Real's narrow 2-1 Champions League win over Inter Milan.
The Turkish international brings a threat factor that can't be felt the same when players like Brahim Diaz or Yan Diomande are playing, and his creativity is only matched by Jude Bellingham.
It is one of the main areas Los Blancos have struggled with in recent years, so securing Guler's long-term future and keeping that creative factor for years to come could prove to be the difference maker when the big trophies are on the line.
Along with what he brings on the pitch, his attitude is not as much of a problem as others, which is why in the long run Guler's extension could prove to be more important.
Real Madrid won't have to worry about Guler causing any problems and won't have to babysit the player as they do with Vinicius, which has proven before to be a detriment to the team. Guler will just be allowed to play his football and contribute to the team as he has been doing so far this season.
