Real Madrid have a different hero each week. Sometimes it is Kylian Mbappe, sometimes it is Vinicius Jr. Sometimes, Thibaut Courtois pulls one out of the bag and becomes the most important player on the night.

And sometimes, it is Brahim Diaz.

Brahim has been one of the best impact substitutes in all of Europe ever since his return to the Spanish capital two years ago, and has helped Real Madrid in desparate times of need due to a number of reasons.

His work rate and versatility make him good enough for the attack or midfield, and it is a blessing for Real Madrid to have a player of his calibre be the first person off the bench.

For most top clubs in Europe, Brahim would walk into the starting XI. But, for a team like Real Madrid, he is forced to make an impact off the bench in case everyone is fit.

The injuries help his case, though, as Brahim is seen in the starting XI more often than not because of rotation and the amount of games Real Madrid are forced to play.

According to a report by The Athletic, Brahim is happy at Real Madrid, but he would like to gain more prominence as a player and be more integral to the team's successes.

Brahim definitely deserves to play a lot more than he is, but where would Ancelotti play him?

Brahim has been great for Real Madrid. The winner against Atletico Madrid was not the first time he scored the winner in a Champions League game, and knowing the Moroccan international's qualities, it certianly would not be the last.

It is difficult to see him start every big game if everyone is fit, and it is understandable that a player like him would want to play more than he is. However, Brahim's main problem is his consistency.

He is great as an impact sub and has generally been good even starting this season, but sometimes, his performances do leave a lot to be desired, and his impact is much heavier when Ancelotti brings him off the bench.

There is also the more obvious problem. Real Madrid have the best attack in world football. They boast some of the best attackers in Europe, and as good as Brahim is, it is tough to see him compare to the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr.

What helps him, however, is his versatility. For example, Brahim played in place of Jude Bellingham against Atletico Madrid, so having those traits would certainly enable him to play more than the average player off the bench. Brahim really is the ultimate squad player, and it is tough to imagine Real Madrid without his performances after every few games.
