Real Madrid have been very active this summer when it comes to player sales and bringing in money from sell-on clauses from previous sales. The club has already brought in upwards of €180 million from sales and sell-on clauses, with Gonzalo Garcia and Cesar Palacios being the latest sells. Real Madrid love inserting clauses in deals when they sell their youngsters and the same can be said for these two, with the club showing off their brains for the future once again.
As being reported by theMadridZone on X, Real Madrid have exclusive buy-back clauses and right of first refusal for both Gonzalo Garcia and Cesar Palacios should either player earn a potential future move away from the Premier League side. Real still believe both players have incredible potential for the future hence why they included these clauses if they want to bring them back to the Bernabeu some day.
Real Madrid sure love their buy-back clauses
Real Madrid announced this week the sales of Gonzalo Garcia and Cesar Palacios to Fulham, with Gonzalo going for €40 million and Palacios for an undisclosed fee. Both players showed incredible potential when given the opportunity however they always faced an uphill battle for regular minutes given how loaded the Real Madrid squad is. Joining Fulham and reuniting with former manager Alvaro Arbeloa will be the perfect place for the youngsters to develop as players with consistent game time.
And Real Madrid knows this which is exactly why they put these clasues in the deals. As mentioned earlier both players have incredible potential and with consistent game time have the chance to develop into top class players and Real Madrid don't want to have to join a potential future race to sign them in the future and have made it easier on themselves to have first dibs should they want to bring either player back to the club.
We've seen Real Madrid insert clauses like these into deals for many of their youngsters in recent years, with similar being in the deals for Nico Paz, Jacobo Ramon, and Victor Munoz, with Real opting not to activate them and instead allow the players to get sold elsewhere and bring in money from the sell-on clauses.
At the end of the day whether or not either player will ever return to Real Madrid remains unknown. Gonzalo would probably be the more likely candidate given his position but ultimately who knows. What is known is that many Real Madrid fans will be rooting for the youngsters to do well as both players will always bleed Real Madrid through and through.
