While Real Madrid has been active in the transfer market bringing in reinforcements, they have also been active with sales and bringing in cash for themselves, specifically when it comes to their academy products. Whether it's been Real Madrid directly selling the player or money from a sell-on clause, Los Blancos have brought in nearly €200 million this summer from just academy products alone.
And Real aren't done yet with the cash still coming in with the club expected to potentially pocket another €10 million from the sale of Sergio Arribas who has interest from both Ajax and Benfica and when looking at the broader picture of the money the club has brought in, it shows the genius the club has when it comes to deals for their youngsters.
The money keeps flowing in for Real Madrid this summer
While some of the money brought in this summer has been from direct sales of academy players like the €40 million for Gonzalo Garcia and the €60 million for Nico Paz, the rest has all been from sell-on clauses Real inserted into the deals when the first sold the players, as the club always knew the players had the potential to develop into top players and they could benefit from that.
In addition to the potential €10 million from a sale of Sergio Arribas, the club has also brought in
€20 million from Victor Munoz's move to Liverpool after Real sold him to Osasuna, €15 million from Alvaro Rodríguez's move to Bournemouth after Real sold him to Elche, €15 million from Mario Gila's move to AC Milan after Real sold him to Lazio, and number of others as well who brought in similar numbers.
Real Madrid aren't typically a big selling club so seeing this much cash come in in one transfer window only from sell-on clauses from their academy stars shows two things, one the club is genius for always inserting sell-on clauses in deals for their youngsters, and secondly that the club actually produces a number of incredibly talented youngsters that for some reason aren't trust by Real to get minutes at the Bernabeu.
Along with the sell-on clauses Real Madrid tends to include buy-back clauses in deals for their academy products, so after bringing in money from their sales this summer, don't be surprised if in a few years time we see some of these players return to the Bernabeu after years away to devlop into top player who can make an impact at Real Madird.
