Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has promised another Galactico signing to the fans amidst a serious challenge from Enrique Riquelme, who himself is promising the Madridistas Rodri and Erling Haaland from Manchester City if he were to be voted the new president in a monumental electoral upset.

Perez is not taking the challenge lying down, and after already bringing in Ibrahima Konate and Denzel Dumfries to play for Jose Mourinho whenever he is confirmed in the election, he is continuing to beat the drum for new signings, which is an aggressiveness Madridistas have not seen from their long-time president for years.

And beyond the next Galactico, Real Madrid are still expected to make potentially a handful of more big signings as part of a summer squad overhaul to respond to two terrible, by their lofty standards, seasons without a trophy.

Real Madrid love signing Liverpool stars

One name in the midfield that has been mentioned here and there as an alternative to Rodri and Chelsea's Enzo Fernandez is Liverpool star Alexis Mac Allister, who had a poor 2025/26 Premier League season but was senstional in 2024/25 when the Reds won the league title and even better before that for Brighton and the Argentina national team as a World Cup winner.

Paul Joyce of The Times is reporting from the Liverpool perspective that this could indeed be the summer that the Reds are open to selling Mac Allister.

With Real Madrid interested, they now have an opening to sign Mac Allister, and while the 27 year old box to box midfielder will not be cheap because of his pedigree and the club he plays for, since he is coming off his worst season in a few years, this is a chance for Real Madrid to affordably scoop him up and take advantage of Liverpool's struggles.

Real Madrid have gone to the Liverpool well twice now. Trent Alexander-Arnold joined last summer transfer window with his contract running out, and center back Ibrahima Konate will come next to him as a free agent this summer on similar wages.

Alexis Mac Allister was even better than both of them and a legitiamte Premier League Player of the Season candidate when the Reds were truly clicking en route to a second championship during the 2024/25 season. Real Madrid already have great box to box midfielders, but Mac Allister is more defensive and is a better player than Dani Ceballos, whose spot he could take in the squad - or he could even be the replcement for Eduardo Camavinga.
