Real Madrid will be looking to defend the La Liga and Champions League titles next season. Their chances of doing so have already been enhanced, thanks to the arrival of Kylian Mbappe in the summer. The long-running saga finally came to an end with the French World Cup winner making the move to Santiago Bernabeu as a free agent after his contract at PSG ran out.

It is not the only move Mbappe has made recently though. In fact, he is set to become a majority of a football club in France as well.

As reported by Le Parisien (via GOAL), Mbappe will pay just under €20 million (£17 million/$22 million) to purchase most of the shares in SM Caen. Pierre-Antin Capton will hold the remainder of the shares, worth €5 million (£4.2 million/$5.4 million).

That will make Mbappe one of the youngest club owners in all of football. SM Caen currently play in Ligue 2 in France.

Caen are actually a solid team and might have a bright future ahead of them if they make the right moves. The club finished 6th in Ligue 2 last season. Top players like N'Golo Kante and William Gallas have represented them over the years.

Of course, we can only wish Mbappe the best of luck in his journey as a football club owner. At the same time, Real Madrid fans' primary concern will be his performances on the pitch.

Let's see if he can perform at a world-class level outside of France. Also, Mbappe will have a point to prove. Not only because he is set to play for the club that he grew up supporting but also due to his underwhelming EURO 2024 campaign, as the French national team disappointed with him leading the line.
