Real Madrid could be prepared to sell one of the players who arrived at the club just last summer. Xabi Alonso was in charge at the time but his dismissal last week has raised doubts over many members of the squad.

According to Fichajes, Madrid might be prepared to listen to offers for Franco Mastantuono despite the Argentine youngster only arriving at the Estadio Bernabeu in August 2025. He was seen as one for the future and joined the club in a €45 million deal from River Plate.

It's claimed that Mastantuono "isn't integrating well" and this could open the door for a potential sale. He's appeared 19 times across competitions this season, scoring two goals and providing one assist.

Real Madrid could be open to early Mastantuono sale

Mastantuono was initially a starter under Alonso but fell down the pecking order once Rodrygo re-found form. He has only started seven La Liga games and he's come off the bench in each of his last league appearances.

Rodrygo's lack of game time during the FIFA Club World Cup last summer seemed to cast doubt on his future. There is now little chance of the Brazilian making way and instead it's his fellow South American who could already be in the shop window.

It would be a rash decision from Madrid to already consider selling the Argentine attacker. He is raw but has plenty of potential and the club need to show patience, much like they should have done with Alonso.

Chelsea were one of the clubs also eyeing Mastantuono before he chose Madrid and the Blues remain admirers of the 18-year-old. It's claimed that the Premier League giants might try testing the waters with a huge offer.

The west London outfit are set for a rebuild under new head coach Liam Rosenior who replaced Madrid-linked Enzo Maresca earlier this month. Cole Palmer recently returned from injury but has shown signs of requiring further treatment with some dissapointing displays.

If Chelsea come to the table with an offer it might be too tempting to resist given they have splashed the cash over the years. The best solution to giving Mastantuono more game time would be to consider a loan in the summer.

There are bound to be plenty of European clubs keen on signing him on loan and it could work out similarly to how Endrick has started his loan spell with Lyon. The Brazilian starlet scored on his debut and looks reborn out in France.
