Real Madrid have hit rock bottom. Their horrendous 2-0 loss to Barcelona sealed back to back trophy less seasons, and all the news around Los Blancos is negative. There is the Kylian Mbappe controversy. The Fede Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni one. Antonio Rudiger, Vinicius Junior, Jude Bellingham, Eduardo Camavinga, Alvaro Carreras, Dani Carvajal, Dani Ceballos, and still others all have their own little battles going on.
Few have covered themselves in glory in this difficult season at Real Madrid, and the one preson president Florentino Perez thinks can come in and save the day is former manager Jose Mourinho, the Special One who is never afraid to break a dozen eggs to make an omlette.
Well, after El Clasico, the Mourinho track is only becoming more popular, and he now appears to be Plan A, Plan B, and Plan C all wrapped up into one. Furthering that is the accelerating rumors around Mourinho.
The job is for Jose Mourinho's to take
Now, according to a report from Jose Felix Diaz of Diario AS, via the Madrid Zone, Real Madrid have formally made their offer to Jose Mourinho for the Portuguese international to become their next manager. It is word from the most senior journalist covering the club and comes after others have reported that Benfica will let their manager go in about a week, so, at this point, all that is left is the official "yes" frmo Mou.
It may take several days for that to happen, out of respect for Benfica, and most of the negotiations have been run through super agent Jorge Mendes and Florentino Perez to this point so that Mourinho can focus on Benfica - and have some plausible deniability to the press when he says that he, personally, has not been talking to another club.
But Mourinho to Real Madrid is an open secret, and we all know how Perez craves the biggest personalities in the dressing room. That has been the big problem for Real Madrid since the Kylian Mbappe signing threw everyone for a loop, with the Frenchman's own big ego overshadowing the others and maybe bringing out the worst in the other players - and some insecurities from even beloved Madridistas like Fede Valverde.
Nobody, though, has a bigger personality than Mourinho, who took Porto to the Champions League, set the all time points record with Real Madrid in La Liga, brought Roma European glory again, and put Chelsea on the map as an elite club. He is ready for this.
