Real Madrid headed into the past summer transfer window with one goal in mind, solidify the backline by bringing in players to lead the next generation of Los Blancos. The club brought in Alvaro Carreras from Benfica and Dean Huijsen from Bournemouth for big money and so far both players are showing why the club was willing to spend big on them in the summer.

The club also brought in right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold on a free transfer from Liverpool, adding yet another superstar to their already star-studded line-up. His resume at Anfield spoke for itself, so it's no wonder that Real pushed so hard to land the free agent ahead of other top European clubs.

However, life in the Spanish capital hasn't gotten off to an ideal start for the Englishman, as he's spent more time on the sidelines dealing with injuries than on the pitch. This has led to rumors of frustrations from the club that one of their big-time signings isn't living up to expectations. Reports last week suggested that the club had already decided to move on from Alexander-Arnold, but the most recent update suggests otherwise.

Real Madrid: Update on Arbeloa telling Alexander-Arnold he should leave

As being reported by Guillermo Rai (via Madrid Xtra on X) the rumors of a conversation between Alvaro Arbeloa and Trent Alexander-Arnold where the coach told the player he is not in his plans are FALSE. The coach has full faith in the player and is eagerly anticipating Trent's return to the squad.

Previous reports had suggested the coach advised Alexander-Arnold to leave the club for his own good, as he is not part of the team's plans going forward. That, frankly, would have been a shocking decision by the club; however, thankfully, that seems not to be the case at all.

The Englishman has only made 11 appearances for Madrid this season, but in the limited time he's played, he shows exactly what he brings to the team with his creativity and playmaking from the back, something the team desperately lacks, so getting rid of Trent already could set the team back further.

Alexander-Arnold perfectly fits Arbeloa's system, and with the Englishman expected to be back in the team as soon as next week, we could get our first taste of Trent under Arbeloa and how much his game will be elevated under the new manager.

The 27-year-old could be back soon from injury and will be eager to get a consistent run of games under his belt. His side are still in contention to win the La Liga title and the Champions League.
