Vinicius Junior was spotted laughing when he found out about Barcelona's 4-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid on Thursday night. The Blaugrana were heavily beaten at the Metropoitano and conceded all four goals in the first half.

An embarrassing own goal from Eric Garcia in the seventh minute left Spanish goalkeeper Joan Garcia with his head in his hands. Antoine Griezmann made it two-nil in the 14th minute when the former Barca attacker fired into the bottom corner and celebrated against his old club.

Ademola Lookman who was excellent on the night scored his side's third in the 32nd minute with a clever finish. Julian Alvarez left the Catalans shellshocked with a fourth on the stroke of half-time.

Vinicius' reaction to Barcelona loss

The result means Barca are 4-0 behind on aggregate in the two side's Copa del Rey semi-final. Vinicius seemed to catch wind of the scoreline while at an event with Spanish streamer Ibai Llanos.

A photo of the Brazilian learning about the game has surfaced online. It shows him laughing alongside Ibai.

Vinicius might feel Barca were handed karma following comments made by Hansi Flick ahead of the game. The German coach took a dig at Madrid's failure to beat Segunda Division outfit Albacete when asked for his thoughts on his side not facing La Liga opposition until the semi-finals.

Real Madrid showed the Catalans how its done when they beat Diego Simeone's Atleti in the Supercopa de Espana semi-final. A 2-1 win in Saudi Arabia saw Los Blancos advance to the final where they were beaten 3-2 by Barca.

Vinicius needs to be on song this weekend

Real Madrid can move above Barca in the La Liga table this weekend if they pick up all three points on Saturday. Arbeloa's men face Real Sociedad at the Estadio Bernabeu with just a point seperating the El Clasico rivals.

Arbeloa and Vinicius will be well aware of the threat the visitors pose given they beat the Blaugrana 2-1 last month. Its a hugely important game for Los Blancos and a win puts the pressure on a wounded Barca side.

Flick's troops aren't in action until Monday when they travel to Girona. They will be needing to quickly bounce back from their humiliating defeat against Atleti.

Real Madrid beat Sociedad last time the two sides met back in September and that will give them confidence that they can prevail once again. Vinicius will be eager to continue his upturn in form since Arbeloa replaced Xabi Alonso.
