Real Madrid play Leipzig in the Champions League on Wednesday night. Even though they have a few injury issues to deal with, they should still get the job done with what they have.
Real Madrid have been waiting on all of these players for a very long time, and they would hope that the time they have to wait for them to return is not that long anymore.
Real Madrid are slowly recovering their players, and hopefully, one of thtese three is close to doing that as well.
Real Madrid vs Leipzig early injury news as 2 ruled out and 1 doubt
Rodrygo - out
Rodrigo will remain out of contention to be picked for a match for the foreseeable future as he continues to recover from an anterior cruciate ligament injury that he suffered in March of last year. He is getting ever so close to being fully fit, but it will still take quite a bit of time for Rodrigo to play football for Real Madrid once again. The club might not even want to risk him until the start of next year, but that is not yet confirmed. It remains to be seen when the player actually makes his comeback, but it would not be against Leipzig on Wednesday night. Not even close.
Ferland Mendy - doubt
The only reason that Ferland Mendy is out and not fully ruled out for the game against Leipzig is that he has been training. He has been seen training on grass for 10 days, and that usually means that a return to action is quite near. It may not happen this game, and it may not happen in the game after that, but Mendy is getting closer - close enough to not be ruled out completely until he is officially back.
Raul Asencio - out
Rodrygo Asencio's injury situation is known by almost everyone who follows Real Madrid. Asencio has been out for a very long time due to an issue in his right leg. He was getting close to returning and then had a relapse of an injury, which has now led to a surgery on his right leg. That surgery will rule him out until, at the very least, December. It is not even confirmed if he will be back in December, but that is the goal that the player reportedly has in mind.
Whether the player is able to do that is another topic altogether. Hopefully he is able to, because everyone knows that Real Madrid's centre-back problems seem to never go away.
