Despite being incredibly gifted and accomplished already, Jude Bellingham is often a misunderstood player, and his confidence makes him an easy target. Real Madrid superstars are known for being magnest for criticsm from rivals, but even in his home country of England, Jude is frequently met with insane criticisms from the media.
And not too long ago, he suffered those insults from his own manager, with Thomas Tuchel regrettably using the word "repulsive" to describe the Real Madrid star center midfielder's behavior on the pitch, which was one of the most bizarre coaching moments that year.
Tuchel has his own way of doing things that is often disliked, and even this year, he has caused controversy with some of his selections. The worst snub was leaving off masterful Real Madrid right back Trent Alexander-Arnold, and so Madridistas have likewise been worried about how Jude may be treated by the mercurial former PSG, Bayern Munich, and Chelsea manager.
Thomas Tuchel can't deny Jude Bellingham
Yet speaking at a recent press conference, Thomas Tuchel was singing a different tune about Jude Bellingham, and he gave the England international quite the healthy dose of praise for his decisiveness and performance in the second half of a Three Lions 1-0 win over New Zealand.
The German manager said, via Madrid Xtra, “Jude's second half? For sure he has the decisiveness and bite. It's his key characteristic. You can see he's returning from an injury, is full of energy and happy to be back on the pitch. His injury came in a decisive part of the season. It was unfortunate for Real Madrid and him personally. You can see now he's in a sweet spot. He's back, fresh, in top shape and wants to play.”
Real Madrid fans will especially love that Tuchel acknowledged his injury recovery, because there are a lot of pundits, including those in Spain, who are not being honest about Bellingham and the challenges he faced on the injury front which hampered his - and Real's doomed - 2025/26 season.
Jude is an elite player who makes a huge difference in the clutch with that bite and decisiveness that Tuchel is pointing out. He has scored bangers to win El Clasico, and nobody can forget that bicycle kick to rescue England in the last European Championships. There is no appearance in that Final without Jude, who was also the club's best player, by far, in that loss to Spain.
