Real Madrid are often always linked with the best players in the world and the latest big name on the rumor mill is a Manchester City superstar. Los Blancos are set for a busy summer transfer window and Florentino Perez's recruitment team will be tasked with a rebuild.

Some of the biggest names at Madrid aren't safe from a potential sale amid a frustrating campaign for the team as a collective. Vinicius Junior's future remains uncertain as his contract expires in 2027 and there's no indication an extension is close.

Jude Bellingham has been called out over his apparent attitude problems and topsy-turvy form. He and Vinicius were among three members of the senior squad booed by Madridistas after Xabi Alonso's dismissal.

Real Madrid prepare Phil Foden bid

A Galactico-esque signing could be on the cards for Madrid this summer and Phil Foden could be the top target for the La Liga giants. According to SportsBoom, the club are keen on signing Foden and view him as "the crowning piece of their new Galacticos puzzle."

City don't want to sell Foden and are only expected to do business starting at around €180 million and €200 million. Its claimed that the potential transfer could "shatter the existing world transfer record" although those fees mentioned wouldn't.

Neymar's move to Paris Saint-Germain from Barcelona in 2017 remains the most expensive transfer in history at €222 million. So if a Foden deal is to take place and be a world-record then the Spanish heavyweights would be looking at a fee over that.

It seems highly unlikely that Madrid would invest such large amounts of money in the 25-year-old. They would reportedly be joined in the race for the English attacker by PSG who are "prepared to match any financial package."

Foden has been vital for Pep Guardiola over the years and rediscovered form this season after a dissapointing 2024-25 campaign. He has made 34 appearances across competitions, scoring 10 goals and providing four assists.

Jude Bellingham would likely make way

The report claims that Madrid holds an advantage over PSG for Foden because of the relationship between the City star and his English compatriot Bellingham. It's claimed that the latter is acting as "an informal ambassador" to help in negotiations.

That should be taken with a grain of salt, given Bellingham already shot down rumors he has advised the club to target English players. If Los Blancos were to swoop for Foden it could lead to his England teammate making way.

Bellingham has been the subject of speculation in recent weeks with a report claiming he could depart if his performances don't improve. It's suggested that unnamed Premier League clubs have made offers for the 22-year-old.
