Real Madrid are getting closer to signing Rodri from Manchester City for a fee between €65 million and €75 million.
This is according to a post from Sergio Valentín, one of the first journalists to break the news about the saga.
It was also said that Manchester City tried their best to get other clubs into the race for the Spanish midfielder, but they did not succeed because Rodri blocked all of those operations himself.
It is clear to everyone that Rodri only wants to join Real Madrid, with personal terms already agreed between the two parties.
Obviously, him wanting to go to Real Madrid has helped the club's case by giving them the leverage to get a deal done within a certain price range. Not having other clubs like Bayern Munich, Barcelona, and PSG in the mix has ensured that the price for one of the best midfielders in the world, if not the best, remains at a respectable amount for a player who is in the last year of his contract.

There are other things that Real Madrid need to focus on as well. For example, selling players to accommodate Rodri and Yan Diomande will be the priority for the club after signing Rodri.
Whoever gets announced first will take the remaining place in the squad, and then the player after that will have to wait until Real Madrid sell or loan out one of their players to create space.
This is now the main worry for Real Madrid. It is no longer about whether they can sign the players. It is now about whether they can actually register them to play for the club.
Rodri should be the priority here because he is much more needed than any other player the club have signed this summer.
Real Madrid's midfield issues have not been fixed since Toni Kroos retired two years ago, and the feeling with Rodri is that he will at least get them much closer to solving that problem compared to what other players have done since the German's retirement.
It is expected that Rodri will play the majority of the games, but it is also necessary that José Mourinho keeps him fresh for the biggest matches of the season because that's where Real Madrid struggle the most.
A player who is entering his 30s and is coming off a serious knee injury needs to be rotated as well as possible, and Mourinho will need to make sure that happens.
