Real Madrid fans, at this point, have been anticipating a Rodrygo departure for a while.

Fans are torn on whether they want him to leave or not. Many do, many don't, but the fact that he rarely plays under new manager Xabi Alonso just shows that an exit might be nearer than a stay.

You never know in football, and I don't think the future will be decided in this week. It will take time, but in my personal opinion, Rodrygo is more out than in.

Alonso, on the other hand, did say recently that Rodrygo is fully in his plans and he trusts him a lot, which went on to show that hey, maybe Rodrygo will stay after all.

No one knows what will happen with Rodrygo's future

And then, on Monday, it was reported by ESPN Brasil that the Brazilian superstar is wanted by Real Madrid's next opponents in the Club World Cup - PSG.

PSG already have three left-wingers who are already supremely talented, so I am not entirely sure where exactly Rodrygo fits their plans, if they are serious about signing him.

Rodrygo is a better player - at least right now - than Desire Doue and Bradley Barcola - so maybe that is where Luis Enrique is looking at for improvements, but at the same time, PSG are already playing at such a high level, do they even need him?

Do they need him more than, say, an Arsenal? Arsenal have been keen on him for a while, too, and he fits in the English outfit far more than he would in France.

To Real Madrid, it probably would not matter much where the Brazilian goes. Both PSG and Arsenal are big European rivals to them, so it is a matter of which team would want him more and which team would be willing to pay more.

Wanting a player is not enough, the player will also have to ask for a move, which is the only way Real Madrid would let Rodrygo go.

So, it remains to be seen what happens with the Brazilian over the course of the summer.
