It's safe to say that Real Madrid are in a bit of a rough stretch right now. The impressive team performances and results from the beginning of the season have since dropped off, with Real only winning one of their last five matches and seeing the form of some players come to a complete standstill.
Players like Vinicius Jr and Dean Huijsen, who got off to hot starts this season, have since seen their form hit a brick wall and have become shadows of the players they were just a few short months ago. Whether that dip is due to fatigue or the squad failing to gel with each other is unknown, but the club and fans are hoping this gets sorted out sooner rather than later.
Some players, however, have been struggling since the dying days of the Carlo Ancelotti regime to find their past form, and many were expecting them to regain it under Xabi Alonso, but they still struggle to find their best.
One of these players is Rodrygo. The Brazilian was once one of the first names in the starting lineup every match, but lost his place last season with the arrival of Kylian Mbappe, and that impacted his form, and it has continued on to this season. And unfortunately for the Brazilian, he has just put his name in the Real Madrid history books, but in the worst way possible.
Rodrygo won't remember this all-time record he broke in a hurry
As pointed out by theMadridZone on X, Rodrygo hasn't scored a goal in his last 30 games for Real Madrid, which is the longest streak without a goal by any attacker in Real Madrid history.
For a player like Rodrygo, if you told this stat to fans two years ago, they wouldn't believe a word you said. The Brazilian was sensational for Real Madrid during the 22/23 and 23/24 seasons, scoring goals and providing assists for fun, but he's now a ghost of his former self.
While this is no doubt a brutal stat, form is temporary. Rodrygo is still a player with loads of quality, the real issue here is confidence. Once he gets one goal, the floodgates usually open for a player of his quality.
Real and Xabi Alonso just need to manage him carefully and let him play his way back into rhythm. If the Brazilian is given more starting minutes in the upcoming games, he has all the potential to show that he is still a key player for Los Blancos.
