Didier Deschamps is still the manager of the French national team, much to the chagrin of many, but after the 2026 World Cup, Zinedine Zidane will get to achieve his life long dream of coaching Kylian Mbappe and the stars of Les Bleus after being their greatest ever player and 1998 World Cup champion. The Real Madrid legend only wanted France after resigning from Madrid in 2021 following a tumultuous second stint at the club, rejecting offers from the likes of Manchester United, Juventus, and even PSG in the process.

Zidane won three straight Champions League titles at Real Madrid and returned later to add another La Liga crown to his resume, and though people tried to diminish his historic achievements in Madrid by stating he was not a real coach and that the players coached the team with Zizou providing only vibes, anyone with a sense of football knowledge understands that was not the case at all. And if were so easy to coach Real Madrid or any team to the Champions League, then why had other great managers (and many lesser) failed?

Among those who know ball and know of Zizou's merits as a manager is his former teammate and another one of the greatest footballers to ever play the game, Brazilian striker Ronaldo Nazario. He praised Zizou to the highest as a manager and backed him fully to succeed as the next French national team manager.

Real Madrid fans know Zinedine Zidane can do anything

Ronaldo said of Zidane in an interview with Hugo Guillemet of L'Equipe, "Zidane is absolutely ready to coach France. I've always said he has the perfect profile for the job. He has the talent, the experience, the tactical intelligence, and the ideal character. And this isn't just a hunch; he's already proven it with his brilliant tenure at the helm of Real Madrid."

Real Madrid fans have been trying to tell the world of football this for years that Zinedine Zidane has one of the sharpest acumen in the sport and an incredible resume that, yes, extends off the pitch, too, and if he can win three straight Champions Leagues, then he can do anything at all.

Look at France. Even with all of Didier Deschamps's mistakes, Les Bleus are still 2018 World Cup winners, 2022 finalists, and favorites alongside their last final opponents Argentina to do it all over again in the Americas this year. So imagine how much better France can be with a serial winner and perfect player's coach like Zidane at the helm.
