Even though Bayern Munich and French national team superstar right winger (and attacking midfielder) Michael Olise had another rough performance against a stingy defense, the young forward remains a dream target for Real Madrid, in particular president Florentino Perez.
The man in charge of Madrid has been obsessed with Olise since watching him carve up his Royal Whites in the Champions League, and with a strong World Cup, particularly as a creator and in the battles defensively even, Olise has only boosted his stock.
Set to cost at least 200 million euros, Olise will be a difficult prize for Real Madrid to pull from their biggest frenemies in European football, but if anyone can pull off the unthinkable, then it is Perez. And after how well Olise and Kylian Mbappe worked together in the French national team attack this summer, there is real optimism from the Madrid camp that Olise could tell Bayern that he wants to go when they meet after France's elimination at Spain's hands in the World Cup.
Bayern Munich are not panicked
But Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sports is reporting, via iMiaSanMia, the continued negative refrain from the Bayern Munich camp on any possible Michael Olise sale. Per Sky Sports Germany's chief transfer insider, Bayern have received information straight from Olise and his reps that the Frenchman will not be leaving Bavaria this summer. Therefore, Bayern are relaxed on the situation, and from their stand point with no indication from Olise that he wants to go, the player is not going to be leaving the Bundesliga's biggest club this year no matter what.
Those around Florentino Perez at Real Madrid have also told the leader of the White House that it is basically impossible to sign Olise this summer. Perhaps Real Madrid can sign him away from their European Clasico rivals next summer, but 2026 is seen as exceedingly unlikely, even by the others in the front office.
But as Madridistas can attest historically with players like Luis Figo and Kylian Mbappe, once Perez gets obsessed with an idea, he will do anything possible to make it happen, even if it quite literally seems impossible. Olise is Bayern's biggest gem, even above Jamal Musiala and Harry Kane, and Real Madrid will have to break records to get him. But if Olise really does not want to leave Bayern right now, then Real Madrid can't make a move no matter how hard they try anyway.
