Real Madrid have been busier than any club in world football this summer transfer window, as president Florentino Perez has backed legendary manager Jose Mourinho much harder than any of his predecessors. Mourinho's mission is to turn Real Madrid around after two straight seasons without a trophy, just as he did more than a decade earlier, and win his first ever Champions League title at the club.

The next focus of. transfer targets for Mourinho are Inter Milan star center back Alessandro Bastoni to add left footed flavor and ball progression to the back line, as well as Argentina international and World Cup winner Enzo Fernandez to a midfield that has been stunned of control since the retirement of legend Toni Kroos.

In order to make the blockbuster signing of Enzo as the new center piece of the midfield and fulfill Mourinho's top target at the position, Real Madrid are going to have to make a big sale. Chelsea want well over 100 million euros for a player they spent big on from Benfica a few years ago. The obvious sale candidate is Eduardo Camavinga, but he keeps blocking a deal.

Aurelien Tchouameni made the wrong headlines last season

So the attention has turned to a like for like switch wherein the current underperforming No. 6, Aurelien Tchouameni, makes way for Enzo Fernandez. According to a report from Mario Cortegana of The Athletic, Real Madrid are open to considering offers to sell the French national team starter.

It is a huge report that comes as no surprise to Real Madrid fans who have been reading the tea leaves after another disappointing season from Tchouameni, who made more headlines for fighting his own player than standing up for them on the pitch. Tchou has been a failure as the Casemiro replacement, showing no defensive fire, nor has he been able to show any control over the pitch; he has not even replaced one tenth of what Toni Kroos brought in the middle of the park.

Tchouameni may very well boost his transfer value with a strong World Cup, and France winning to make the 80 million euro signing a 100 million euro transfer in his own right would then be the best case scenario for the Real Madrid front office.

Real Madrid are not guaranteed to sell Aurelien Tchouameni this summer, but they seem to be absolutely fielding offers. And when it comes to choosing between Tchouameni and Enzo Fernandez, it appears Jose Mourinho has made his choice clear.
