Brazil manager Carlo Ancelotti defended Vinicius Junior and offered his support despite the player’s poor form after his team won 4-2 against Australia in their friendly on Tuesday. Vinicius Junior scored a penalty during the game and was glad to be back on the score sheet.
Ancelotti, after the game, talked about how the player can make an impact, regardless of the form that he is in, and how important he actually is to Brazil. He discussed the patience that he is showing with Vinicius Junior and why it is completely warranted.
He said, "I know Vinícius Junior is not going through his best moment, but he is a player who, even when not at his best, can make the difference, like he did today. He is an important player for Brazil, and he has been an important player in my football history, and he will continue to be. I will be very patient with him. He deserves it. He will be back to his best."
Carlo Ancelotti knows how to get the best out of Vinicius Junior
It is brilliant to see Ancelotti show so much confident support and patience with Vinicius Junior. He understands that Vinicius Junior is a player who thrives when he is loved and given patience. These are really important things to Vinicius Junior, as they were when he first started under Carlo Ancelotti in 2021.
Fast forward to now, he is one of the best players in the world. Even though he has not been in the best form as a player, the version of Vinicius Junior that plays under Ancelotti is better than the player that plays for any other manager in the world.
Ancelotti may be able to revive Vinicius' season with some words of encouragement and by playing him despite his form, but it could also prove to be meaningless when he comes back to Real Madrid, and starts playing the same way he was before the international break.
It is a very interesting thing to see, but at the moment, Vinicius Junior will get every bit of support that he can from Ancelotti. He must put it to good use so that he is able to finally perform at the level everyone expects him to perform at for Real Madrid this season.
Jose Mourinho has also been trying the exact same tactic on Vinicius Junior to get the best out of him, and hopefully, that ends up happening before he runs out of patience – which is something that won’t ever happen with Ancelotti.
