One of the hardest parts of being a football fan is when one of your favorite players leaves your club and Real Madrid fans have had to experience that almost every year for the last decade. A number of fan favorites have departed the club for the next step of their career and sadly Real Madrid is a club where typically once you leave you rarely come back.
There are however a number of players who have left Real Madrid that not only would the fans welcome back but the club as well whether it's for what they can bring on the pitch, off the pitch, or their status as a favorite among fans, they would be welcomed back to the Bernabeu with open arms.
Once Real Madrid, always Real Madrid
There are countless players that Real Madrid fans would welcome back at the club, but for now let's just take a look at three that would be welcomed back at Los Blancos in the blink of an eye.
1. Toni Kroos
We'll start with an easy one, Toni Kroos. While the German is a fan favorite and brings back plenty of nostalgic memories for fans, he would easily be welcomed back when looking at the sporting aspect. Kroos retired at the top of his game after the 23/24 season and his absence has been painfully obvious, costing the team major trophies over the last two years. He's still only 36-years-old and given he retired still playing some of his best football, it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility that he'd step back onto a pitch and instantly be the best midfielder in the team having not kicked a ball in a match in over two years.
2. Joselu
Joselu has become somewhat of a cult hero at Real Madrid for his 23/24 season and would be welcomed back with open arms in the blink of an eye. Joselu is exactly the kind of player Real Madrid need right now, a reliable veteran target man to come off the bench and get goals and thats exactly what he did in his time at the club. And after his heroics against Bayern Munich in the Champions League semi-finals in 23/24, Joselu holds a very special place in the hearts of all Real Madrid fans and is the definition of a streets won't forget legend.
3. Cristiano Ronaldo
And finally we have Cristiano Ronaldo, the greatest player in Real Madrid history. While his best years are no doubt behind him, Ronaldo will always be a legend of the Bernabeu, and with the Portuguese saying this year may be his last in football, seeing him pull on the famous all white kit of Real Madrid one last time before he hangs up his boots would be something that would bring a tear to the eye of all Real Madrid fans around the world.
