When a new manager comes into a club, it's the players job to impress the manager and win them over, to show them that they belong as a part of their squad, and that is the same for the Real Madrid players and new manager Jose Mourinho this summer. Real Madrid has a number of players who under performed last season that risk not being part of Mourinho's project, with three players in particular making it their goal to to win over the manager during the pre-season.

As being reported by theMadridZone on X, Eduardo Camavinga, Franco Mastantuono, and Raul Asencio are determined to win over Jose Mourinho and convince the manager that they deserve to stay as part of his squad for the 26/27 season. All three players remain on the fringes of making the squad and are ready to do all it takes during the pre-season, with all three wanting to stay at the Bernabeu at all costs.

Three Real Madrid players hope to salvage their careers at the Bernabeu

We know the obvious cornerstone pieces of Jose Mourinho's project but some of the players who will be more of squad players still remain somewhat up in the air, with the pre-season expected to be crucial for a number of players, but Camavinga, Mastantuono, and Asencio view it as the chance to revive their careers at Real Madrid. The three are coming off of a disappointing season and with all the new arrivals face even more competition for a place in the squad.

As weird as it may sound, the three players are all probably happy they didn't get called up for the World Cup, as they are some of the first players to report for pre-season, giving them plenty of time to win over the manager and show the what they bring to the table and why they should be part of the squad. Raul Asencio was reportedly the first person to arrive at the training ground on Monday, arriving even before the manager, with the Spaniard determined to secure his place in the backline despite the arrival of Ibrahima Konate.

Camavinga is coming off the back of a season where he failed to make much of an impact and is remembered more for his mistakes than his success and with Mourinho set to build his midfield around Bellingham and Tchouameni, Camavinga has made it his goal to secure that last midfield place in the starting lineup.

And as for Mastantuono, his situation isn't much better. With the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr in the attack, as well as the return of Endrick from loan and Rodrygo set to return from injury this season, this pre-season will be crucial for the teenager to show his skills and convince the manager he deserves a place in and already loaded attacking line.
