Real Madrid legend Toni Kroos has recommended midfielder Angelo Stiller to his former club, according to Sky Sport.
Real Madrid have, according to new reports, shown interest in signing a midfielder for the upcoming summer transfer window.
They have already signed, per Fabrizio Romano, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Dean Huijsen in defense. A new left-back would be huge for the club, and it should be considered an absolute priority.
MARCA did report on how they are looking for a midfielder as well, and someone who was mentioned there as well was Stiller, who has really made a name for himself in Germany.
It is rumored that Stiller will cost Real Madrid around 40 million euros, which is a good price for a player who is clearly talented.
Angelo Stiller has been compared to Real Madrid legend Toni Kroos in the past
The 24-year-old, who currently plays for VFB Stuttgart in the Bundesliga, has been compared with Kroos in the past, and although he is not anywhere near the German in terms of talent, Stiller has shown some similarities in his game.
He is a deep-lying playmaker that works really hard on both sides of the ball. His passing is top-notch, as is his progressive passing - a trait that was huge for Kroos in his career as well - and he is a pass-heavy profile that could be big for Real Madrid.
I do think that the left-back spot should be the bigger priority as compared to the midfield role, but if Real Madrid are able to sign both, then it is great.
According to the MARCA report, new manager Xabi Alonso has requested for a new midfielder, and Stiller could well be the player that is brought in to improve some of the areas that were affected by Kroos' retirement.
If Kroos actually has recommended someone like Stiller, then the player must be good, and Real Madrid should try to sign him if Alonso expresses a need for a profile like him as well.
