Kylian Mbappé was once again brilliant - although not necessarily the most important - for Real Madrid in their emphatic 5-0 win over Kairat Almaty on Tuesday. He scored a hat-trick, and. could have easily had a couple more if he was just a little bit more clinical.
He will take it, though, and so will Xabi Alonso after that rather difficult performance against Atletico Madrid in the derby the other day.
It was not against the biggest team in the world - far from it - but it was definitely the kind of confidence booster that Real Madrid needed after that gut-wrenching loss.
Mbappé was definitely laser sharp against Kairat Almaty, though, and he could have genuinely scored a poker if he was slightly more focused.
In scoring the hat-trick, though, Mbappé did match one of former Real Madrid legend Karim Benzema's goalscoring numbers.
Kylian Mbappé has the same hat-tricks as Karim Benzema in the UCL
In just nine seasons of playing in the Champions League, Mbappé scored his fourth hat-trick in the biggest club competition in all of Europe.
Benzema had four hat-tricks as well, but obviously played many more seasons than his French counterpart has so far in his career.
It is definitely good, and in doing so, he has also become the player with the fourth most Champions League hat-tricks of all time.
Barcelona superstar Robert Lewandowski has scored six, and sits comfortably in third, while Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo - obviously - have scored eight each, sitting at the top of the rankings together.
Judging by how young Mbappé still is, he could definitely at the very least match that number. I mean, it is a lot harder than it looks because you only play so many games in the Champions League every season, but it is doable.
Especially with this newfound Champions League where there are two extra games every season, Mbappé will inevitably play more games than either Ronaldo or Messi did in their time, due to it being a different format.
Even then, though, it will be a very difficult task. Even for prolific scorers like Lewandowski, it was so tough to even get six. To do eight and match the two best goalscoreres of all time would be incredibly tough.
However, if there is one player that can do it, it is probably Kylian Mbappé. I mean, the guy has matched so many records at such a young age already, so it would not surprise me if either he or Erling Haaland were able to match the two greatest players this competition has ever seen.
