Real Madrid are not going to be able to sign Michael Olise in the summer 2026 transfer window, as Bayern Munich have totally shut the right winger down from a possible transfer, regardless of what the media have said about the possibility of a record bid between 200 and 250 million euros potentially swaying them.
And not wanting to anger one of their most important allies among Europe's elite, Real Madrid have taken the notice and backed off from Olise, for this year only, instead signing Jose Mourinho's wing weapon of choice, Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig, for what could potentially be a 120 million euro transfer package for the 19 year old ace.
Olise, though, will remain a topic at Real Madrid so long as he is the new obsession of Florentino Perez, and after a great 2026 World Cup on the right side of Kylian Mbappe, all the Bayern man did was increase Real's interest in him as a long term target.
Michael Olise or Vinicius Junior?
Real Madrid will continue to push to keep Vinicius Junior to a new contract this summer ahead of renewed interest from Premier League giants Arsenal, but, interestingly enough, the world may no longer see the two time Champions League winner as being as valuable as Michael Olise.
In their latest value table, as shared by FOX Sports, Transfermarkt "only" rank Vinicius Jr. as the seventh most valuable player in the world, tied with the PSG clan of Vitinha, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and Joao Neves. He is behind Barcelona's Pedri and, most notably, three spots behind Michael Olise, who ranks fourth sandwiched in between two other Real Madrid superstars in Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham.
Real Madrid fans would never want to see Vinicius Junior sacrificed for Olise, and Florentino will always love Vini as the emotional, fiery superstar who brought him two Champions Leagues and was the player he got right when the whole world did not know his name from when he was at Flamengo.
But if Olise is even more valuable than Vinicius, then that is more vindication Perez can use to tell the rest of the Real Madrid front office that his guy is worth spending more than 200 million euros on and worth going all in for in 2027 when he presumably pushes harder for Bayern Munich to sell him, especially if Real Madrid can win the Champions League again. Olise is an elite footballer already, and if he is over Vini, that is all the more reason for Flo to want his left foot.
