Real Madrid presented Trent Alexander-Arnold on Thursday, and it was perfect. He gave nearly good answers to every single question. He was given the platform to express his love for both Liverpool and Real Madrid, and it was good to see a player like him join the club.

It has been a while since a player of his qualities has joined Real Madrid. Not that Real Madrid don't sign great players - but he really is an anamoly. It is a different profile, something that we have not seen since Marcelo.

In that sense, it was beautiful to see.

Real Madrid presented Trent officially as a player in the iconic white on Thursday, and it did not take him long to set his first objective at his new home.

When he was asked about how long he has waited to sign for the club, he gave an interesting answer which ended with a first historic goal in mind already, as he starts training tomorrow. To win titles, and, more immediately, to win the Club World Cup in the United States.

He said: "I've admired the players, the organization... and I've grown up watching it win: three Champions League titles in a row and two before that. It's no surprise to me to see Real Madrid winning titles.

"A big reason for coming is that I want to be part of future successes. We're a team of young people with a winning mentality. I'm looking forward to getting started.

"We're going to the United States to win the Club World Cup.”

That is it right there. That is what Real Madrid want in a signing of not just this calibre, but any calibre. Real Madrid want mentality monsters. They want players who have the mentality to be able to succeed at Real Madrid. Trent is cut from that cloth, and it seems clear as day to me from these quotes.

He has already won a lot with Liverpool - even though it may seem disrespectful, I mean it in the kindest way - but this might just be a step above.

Liverpool is a huge club, but Real Madrid have a different set of expectations, and Trent will live that first hand. For that, he needs to be ready. And, to be absolutely fair to the guy, he seems it.

It is historic to want titles the second you arrive at the club, even more so in a new era. And, Trent seems to be saying exactly what is needed to be heard from him.
