Even with all the star power in the Real Madrid squad, it is still in desperate need of an overhaul and clearout. Unfortunately, there is no sign of reinforcements arriving this month, but the club is looking to move a number of players on, either this month or in the summer transfer window, as doubts arise about their futures at Los Blancos.
Players such as Ferland Mendy and Antonio Rudiger look likely to see the exit door in the near future as the club looks to move on from older players and transition to the younger generation of Los Blancos.
Another player Real have to ship out is defender David Alaba. The Austrian has been riddled with injuries the last few seasons, and frankly, at this point, doesn't do anything but sit on the bench and take up wages. Thankfully, the club have been handed a lifeline to get the Austrian off their books, and he could head off to a league that loves signing older players.
Turkish giants hand Real Madrid chance to start much-needed clearout
As being reported by AS, Turkish giants Besiktas are hoping to sign David Alaba as they look to strengthen their squad this transfer window. The Austrian is available for free in the summer, but Besiktas are hoping to get the move done sooner.
Alaba arrived at Los Blancos in the summer of 2021 on a free transfer from Bayern Munich and got off to a fairytale start, quickly becoming a key player in the incredible success they achieved in the 21/22 season. However, since then, it's all gone downhill for the Austrian, and all signs point to his time at the club coming to an end sooner rather than later.
Real have been trying to get rid of Alaba for a while now but have struggled to find suitors in the past. They hoped a Saudi Arabian club would make an offer, but that never happened. Besiktas could give the club the opportunity to get Alaba off their hands.

The main issue holding up an Alaba departure is the financials. He is one of the highest-paid players at Real Madrid, earning somewhere around €500.000 per week, a figure any club would struggle to match.
The Turkish club would need the Austrian to take a massive wage cut in order for any potential transfer, something he may not be willing to do. Whether or not Alaba will leave this month remains unknown, but it's safe to say all Madridistas would welcome his exit and a new, younger player to replace him in the summer.
