Real Madrid president Florentino Perez told everyone right at the beginning of the transfer window that he was going to bring in a new Galactico this summer transfer window, and whlie everyone assumed that would be Bayern Munich superstar Michael Olise, it turns out Yan Diomande is going to be the big attacker coming to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Just when it seemed like Olise would be telling Bayern that he wants to join Madrid and that there was real hope of a transfer, Bayern kept digging their heels in, leading Jose Mourinho to suggest the name of Diomande - a player who has amazing quality at 19, an even better attitude as a person, and the childhood dream of the Bernabeu.

Diomande is a perfect fit, and once Mourinho told Florentino and the latter saw how impossible Olis would be this summer due to Bayern's insistence, Real Madrid have accelerated their interest in hijacking a player PSG took for granted as their own Galactic summer 2026 signing.

Real Madrid are one step away from Yan Diomande

Now, Fabrizio Romano is reporting the bombshell transfer news that Real Madrid fans always felt was coming right around the corner. According to Romano, Los Blancos and Yan Diomande have "verbally agreed" on personal terms and have the "green light" from Diomande. As was rumored from Spanish sources, Diomande has now given Real his offiical "yes" to a transfer, which means both them and PSG have a verbal agreement, as Fab notes. But since Real's agreement is fresher, they are now in the driver's seat.

But a deal is not done yet. Unlike PSG, Real Madrid have to be serious and offer a bid that RB Leipzig will accept, because one of the world's premier selling clubs knows that the player they have in Diomande is way more special than anyone before - including Timo Werner, Dominik Szoboszlai, Ibrahima Konate, Dayot Upamecano, Christopher Nkunku, Dani Olmo, and so many other great players they have sold around Europe's elite clubs.

Real Madrid had an offer of 100 million euros in total rejected by the Bundesliga giants already, so now that they have the verbal green light from the young Ivorian superstar, Real Madrid need to go back to the negotiating table and submit a better transfer bid and total financial package to Leipzig in order to seal this deal. With how badly Jose Mourinho seems to want him, it should only be a matter of time.
