Vinicius Junior should be untouchable at Real Madrid. There is no question that the priority for Florentino Perez and the club this summer transfer window should be to sign the Brazilian international to a new, lucrative contract extension that pays him close to striker Kylian Mbappe per year, and then the priority for manager Jose Mourinho during the season should be to get the most out of Vini.
Any questions about Vini's attitude and performance have been unequivocally answered for both club and country this season. No club player had more goals than Vini Jr. this calendar year besides Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane, while Vini was the Man of the Match for Brazil in all three group stage encounters of the 2026 World Cup.
But the world of football sometimes sends shockwaves, and Vini Jr., until he gets signed to a new contract by Real Madrid, is under threat of being a part of a big shock trade. Because at the same time as Real Madrid are thinking about re-signing Vini Jr. with one year left on his contract, Florentino and the club are obsessed with the idea of bringing in World Cup star Michael Olise, who is Kylian Mbappe's French national teammate.
Bayern Munich could ask for a superstar for Michael Olise
The problem is that Bayern Munich do not want to sell at any cost, and whlie Olise has yet to give Bayern any assurances he wants to stay, Die Roten are under no pressure to sell, even in the unlikely situation that Olise were to ask for a transfer out in order to join forces with Mbappe in Madrid.
Olise and Mbappe have amazing chemistry together for France - chemistry that Vinicius Jr. and Mbappe do not have. And even though Vini is friendly to Mbappe, the latter does not show the same love for him, with a clear difference in body language from the Frenchman to Vini than he has towards Olise on the national team.
If GM Mbappe has pull with Florentino Perez and if Flo is that obsessed with Michael Olise, Vinicius Junior being part of a transfer swap for the Bayern Munich star could be a possibility. Vinicius Jr. is the one star player Bayern could be interested in and the one guy who could move the needle down from the record 222 million euro asking price.
Bayern already have a world class left winger in Luis Diaz, but he can move to the right to replace Olise whlie Mbappe plays on the left with Endrick than moving in the middle. The chances of a Vinicius Jr. for Olise swap happening is very, very low, but with just a year left on his deal and Mbappe pulling for his compatriot, it is a scenario worth thinking about in case Bayern start to ask for it.
