Real Madrid have been looking for a center-back for the longest possible time. They need a center-back because of the lack of depth in the position. Apart from that, their best center-back - Antonio Rudiger - is on the bad side of 30 and even though he has been very good for them in the last couple of seasons, there is a need for them to sign another player to give him some rest.
Dean Huijsen is a brilliant player who is currently plying his trade at Bournemouth in the Premier League. He is a strong center-back who has gained plaudits and interest from the world's biggest clubs.
Real Madrid themselves have been linked with the Spanish center-back, who, similar to Raul Asencio, will be making his debut for Spain's national team during this international break.
He is great, and is one of the best options for Real Madrid in the center-back department.
Dean Huijsen would be cheap, young, tall and quick, making him a perfect target for Real Madrid
Many people would like Real Madrid to sign the Alessandro Bastonis and the William Salibas of the world, and I am one of those people, but we also have to be realistic: those two center-backs will cost a lot of money. Real Madrid may still make an offer for one of them, but the chances are that they at least try to find a cheaper alternative.
This is where Huijsen comes into the equation. Huijsen is a young center-back - only 19 years old - and is everything Real Madrid are going to look for in a signing. The age obviously helps as Real Madrid tend to only sign young players.
Secondly, Real Madrid will not have to break the bank for him. Huijsen has a release clause of 35 million euros in his current contract with Bournemouth. It is a decent amount of figure but it is still nowhere near the 150 million euros that Arsenal would demand for Saliba.
He is also a left-sided center-back, even though he is right-footed, and that is a position where Real Madrid could use some depth. Raul Asencio and Eder Militao are two great right-sided center-backs, and having a player like Huijsen on the other side would help massively.
According to AS, he is also a Real Madrid fan, which could play a part in his decision-making. Apart from being quick and strong, Huijsen is also almost 2 meters tall, making him a brilliant presence in the box.
It is honestly a really good move should Real Madrid go for the player, and the rapport he would create with the Spanish players that are currently in the national team squad is also a big positive for Real Madrid.
