The latest international break is upon us. The time where for two weeks, club football takes a back seat to players representing the countries either in World Cup qualifiers or friendly matches to prepare for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Being a club like Real Madrid, who always has some of the best players from all over the world, the club always sees a number of their star players head off to represent their countries. Players like Thibaut Courtois, Vinícius Jr, Kylian Mbappé and others will all be representing the countries during the two games that will be played.

While Real Madrid has had a number of their star players called up by their countries, there are also a number of stars, that usually get called up who didn't this time, and it greatly plays into the hands of Real Madrid when looking at the stretch of games on the horizon.

Why this international break is so important for Real Madrid

For Xabi Alonso and his coaching staff, the players remaining in the Spanish capital over this international break will be getting a much-needed rest, which, given how long and grueling this season is going to be, is the best thing that could happen.

For Real Madrid, players like Jude Bellingham, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Fede Valverde, and Aurélien Tchouaméni won't be playing during the break and will be given the time to rest and recovery, so when club football rolls back around will be in the best shape for the upcoming matches.

All those players mentioned are crucial parts to Xabi Alonso's system and given Real have to play the likes of Juventus, Barcelona, and Liverpool in the coming weeks, this time of recovery comes at the best possible time.

While other clubs are going to have a number of their starters playing two full 90 minute games, Real Madrid will have a number of their stars resting and recovering from any knocks or injuries and will be better off when the big matches roll around soon.
