Real Madrid's upcoming La Liga visit to Valencia has taken a tragic turn and that match won't be played this weekend due to the unfortunate events that have taken place in the province. Sometimes, football has to take a backseat to much more important things and this is quite certainly one of those times.

As reported by GOAL, Real Madrid's match against Valencia, which was set to be played on Saturday, has been postponed due to flash floods. RFEF has postponed all matches in the province. Villarreal’s game against Rayo Vallecano has also been cancelled.

The unfortunate natural disaster has tragically claimed many lives and has caused widespread damage to the area, affecting countless families in the Valencia province of Spain. Understandably after such events the priority is towards the wellbeing of everyone in the region.

Real Madrid have issued an official club statement expressing its deepest condolences to the families and everyone affected by the events. Real Madrid players like Vinicius Jr, Luka Modric, and Jude Bellingham have posted messages on social media expressing sympathy for all people and communities affected by the disaster.
