Endrick’s situation at Real Madrid is curiously crafted. He is torn between playing regularly and staying at Real Madrid. He knows that playing elsewhere for a season or two would surely give him more minutes than he has been earning here, but he would not have the same spotlight or chance for glory as he does at Real Madrid.
Endrick needs to make the Brazil national team for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and things only got worse for him when Carlo Ancelotti took over. The manager was clearly not fond of him at Real Madrid, and that prejudices his chances of getting picked for Brazil now.
The only resort he has for now is not a loan, but to find minutes and deliver to the best of his capability. First, he must recover quickly and make himself available. Continuous injury relapses have already cost him a great chunk of the start of the season.
But what Xabi Alonso said right before the Villarreal game has left fans thinking positively again.
Xabi Alonso just made a promise to Endrick for Real Madrid fans to remember
In the press meet before hosting Villarreal in La Liga, Xabi was asked about Endrick’s progress, and the manager said:
“He has a chance to be a starter. He’s coming off a slightly long injury, but he’s been training well for a few weeks now, and it’s just a matter of finding the right context in the game for him to come on. He has a goal-scoring instinct, a brutal finish. There’s just a lot of competition, but his time will come.”
You have to love Xabi Alonso. This is brilliant news. We are talking about the prospect of Endrick being a starter, and this is the best news the youngster has probably received in his time at Los Blancos.
We know how highly Xabi Alonso rates youngsters, and if time permits, this is the best chance the Brazilian has to prove himself. From the looks of it, as soon as he is fully fit, Endrick is going to get ample opportunities to make his name.
I consider him best suited as a super sub in tough games to begin with. That way, he won’t carry the load of an entire game but will still have the chance to steal the spotlight. That is exactly what Endrick needs for his morale right now.
At times, despite Kylian Mbappe’s form, it becomes apparent that Madrid are missing a lethal finisher. Gonzalo Garcia is one, and Endrick is another.
The Brazilian even received the number 9 on his back. That is both responsibility and trust. Give it a few weeks, and we are going to witness a new version of Endrick. It is about time.
