Real Madrid are undergoing a number of major changes at the club this summer with both the manager as well as the players in the squad and the same can be said for Chelsea following their disastrous season. The Premier League side has brought in former Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso and the Spaniard is already planning his first transfer window at the club and is looking to reshape his defense and potentially get back at his old club by bringing in this former Real Madrid defender that Los Blancos are also considering bringing back.
As being reported by MadridXtra on X, Xabi Alonso's Chelsea are among the teams interest in former Real Madrid defender Jacobo Ramon, who is currently playing for Como in Serie A. Chelsea are looking to revamp their squad under Alonso and have added the defender to their shortlist of targets, however Real Madrid retain a 50% sell-on clause as well as a buy-back option should they look to thwart Chelsea's transfer plans this summer.
Chelsea add Jacobo Ramon to their long defender shortlist
Jacobo Ramon came through the Castilla academy system and made his debut for Real Madrid during the 24/25 season and as a 20-year-old at the time showed great potential for the future. However given the amount of depth Real Madrid had in the defense, Jacobo only ended up making six appearances for Real Madrid (managing to grab one goals) before being sold to Como last summer for more development and game time.
And he has been thriving in his time at Como. Jacobo is a regular starter in Cesc Fabregas' side, making 37 appearances for the Italian side last season and much like his former Castilla teammate Nico Paz at Como, has found an incredible home to develop as a player at this early stage in his career. Cesc Fabregas is turning him into one of the top young defenders in Europe, with clubs taking note of his success, most notably Chelsea.
Jacobo Ramon made one appearance under Xabi Alonso during his time in charge at Real Madrid during last summers FIFA Club World Cup and didn't have the best performance which could have played a part in his sale to Como. However it seems Alonso has been impressed with his development in such a short period of time that he is ready to bring him in as one of his first signings as Chelsea boss.
The 21-year-old is currently valued at around €30 million, €15 million of which would go to Real Madrid due to their 50% sell-on clause. Real have been rumored to be considering bringing Jacobo back this summer, but after the arrival of Ibrahima Konate and the expected arrival of another central defender, letting Jacobo make a big move to Chelsea wouldn't hurt Real Madrid whatsoever, so the club shouldn't stand in the way this summer.
