If Kai Havertz and Eduardo Camavinga are to join Real Madrid, they must wait.

Real Madrid are in a much better financial situation than the vast majority of clubs in football, as the economic impact of COVID-19 on football will be profound. Los Blancos have money saved and had a stable situation heading into March when football stopped, but they must remain prudent.

As such, Real Madrid will have to wait to sign their top transfer targets.

While there have been rumors of splashy offers for top transfer targets this summer, it doesn’t sound like any of that is realistic.

So not only will Madridistas have to wait for Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland, but they’ll also have to wait for less pricy young stars.

According to MARCA’s Jose Felix Diaz, Kai Havertz and Eduardo Camavinga are also among the players who would have to wait until 2021 for a deal to Real Madrid.

Camavinga is a priority for Zinedine Zidane and Los Blancos.

The 17-year-old is already a big star for Rennes and can be a future superstar for Los Merengues.

He has more than enough quality to play for the world’s most prestigious club and seems to dream of playing at the Santiago Bernabeu. That deal should still happen in 2021.

But Kai Havertz is more difficult. The world-class, record-breaking Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder is more likely to join Bayern Munich than anyone else. A deal could happen in 2020 if someone pays Leverkusen the 100 million euros they are asking for.

It’s highly unlikely, but it’s not impossible if Liverpool, who lost out on Timo Werner to Chelsea, or Manchester United go for it. But United should prioritize another Real target, Jadon Sancho. Still, Havertz is more likely to move than Sancho in 2020, so it’s worth keeping an eye out.

Havertz in 2021 should be more realistic for every team involved – not just the Whites – but he will be a more difficult catch for Zidane than Camavinga. Both players are amazing and worth Los Blancos’ time when they have the financial situation to make a move next year.
