Gareth Bale and Dani Carvajal return to Real Madrid training ahead of the UCL Final
By Ben Sundock
Real Madrid fans received some good news as both Gareth Bale and Dani Carvajal returned to training late last week, in preparation for the Champions League Final in Cardiff, Wales Saturday. Ben Sundock fills you in on how Bale and Carvajal have been ramping up their training ahead of the crucial match.
President Florentino Perez was out at training yesterday to talk to his players ahead of next weekend’s UCL Final, and he was definitely happy to see two of Real’s crucial players back training with the team. Both Gareth Bale and Dani Carvajal haven’t played in a match since April 26, and May 2 respectively.
There is a good chance both these players will be available in Cardiff on Saturday, giving Zinedine Zidane his full compliment of players for the huge match against a very good Juventus side.
Bale and Carvajal returned to full training on Thursday, and have been working with the team through the weekend, not limited in their preparation at all.
In a press release from the team’s official website, it was announced that Gareth and Dani were participating in training, “The team have continued preparations for the Champions League final, which will be played on Saturday 3rd June, against Juventus (8:45pm CEST). Zidane called on the entire squad for the second training session of the week. Bale and Carvajal joined the group, along with Cristiano Ronaldo.”
The players are all well rested and will have had about two weeks to prepare for Juventus by the time the match rolls around.
While many fans and members of the media are excited by the return of Bale, there is a great deal of skepticism as to wheater or not the Welshman will start on Saturday, as he hasn’t played since the first half loss in El Clasico, and has been replaced by Isco who has been in extraordinary form while in relief.
As for Carvajal, I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if the right back was plugged back into the starting XI when the medical staff gives Zidane the all clear, as the seasoned Carvajal has had a great season and is the first choice right back over Danilo.

It will be very interesting to see who Zidane chooses for his squad, especially with the match being in Wales, would he choose Bale over Isco because it’s in Gareth’s home country? Or will he choose the bandy-legged bandit who has played so great this season instead?
